Too Hot To Handle
The Too Hot To Handle season 5 cast fit their zodiac signs so well, it's truly uncanny. Discover Alex Snell and Elys Hutchinson's Sun signs.
Too Hot To Handle season 5 featured a strict and nosy cone, Lana, as well as an exciting cast, and it's time to discuss the zodiac signs of Alex Snell and Elys Hutchinson. Astrology isn't exactly hard science, but it's fun, and it's often uncanny. Louis Russell's Sun sign's still unknown, but plenty of facts have been revealed about the astrological blueprints of other cast members, including season winner Elys, and her love interest from the show, Alex.
During the season, there was personal growth, as well as titillating THTH rule breaks that spiced up the somewhat lighthearted reality hit. Too Hot To Handle's premise is hilarious, even if the season 5 cast members didn't really seem THAT surprised when they found out that they were facing a grueling sex embargo, rather than a no-holds-barred party experience. Whether they're truly shocked or not, they enjoy playing the game, and it's fun to watch. Alex and Elys had a good time, but hit a little turbulence too.

Too Hot To Handle's Elys Hutchinson is a Leo, and Leos love to win. However, unlike some Leos, Elys didn't gloat when she became the new Too Hot To Handle champion. In fact, her generous decision to split her winnings with Dre Woodard, whom she wasn't even romantically involved with, was really impressive. That giving spirit is pure Leo. However, that doesn't mean that the zodiac's "Lion" has no flaws. These big cats always have sharp claws, although Elys kept hers retracted throughout most of the season.
Leos stand out, and they like it that way. However, even if they tried to be low-key, it wouldn't work. This sign is born to shine. There's always a regal quality, and Elys did become the ersatz queen of her season. She was gracious, but didn't really open up at first. On the surface, she seemed so perfect - golden and poised. However, underneath, there was vulnerability, and that's what made her so interesting. She has some demons, like everyone, but managed to hide her doubts and fears.
Leos view life as theater. Every day and night, they're doing performance art, and all the world's a stage. While Elys definitely wasn't the most histrionic cast member, she's still a Leo, which means that she's totally comfortable in the public eye. She's a model, after all. While she shied away from commitment in the past, emotionally scarred by her parents' divorce, she found someone who made her want to try. She moved beyond superficiality (this can be something the image-conscious Leo is prone to), choosing to go deeper with Alex. He had doubts too, but they decided to be a couple.
The lithe and fashionable Elys is a total star. Born in Switzerland and raised in England, Elys brought a lot of sophistication to a show that can be (sometimes delightfully) crude and silly. Remember when Christine Obanor (the "horniest woman in the retreat") ate a banana while teasing Louis? Elys probably wouldn't do that, as how the world sees her is just too important.
While Elys may not be with Alex anymore, she's doing just fine on her own. A Leo sometimes needs a partner who is willing to take a backseat. Since Leos are so outgoing, their benefit from partners who are a bit more shy and retiring, and Alex wasn't that. The, "wanderer" Alex is all about adventure. One thing is certain, which is the fact that Elys will find her perfect match if she really wants to.
The hair-obsessed Alex seemed sketchy at first. His vanity was off the charts, not that this is unusual on Too Hot To Handle. Of course, people are posing while they're competing, and mostly, they look good doing it. In fact, it's part of the Too Hot To Handle experience to don dubious resort wear, which looks more like after hours nightclub gear, after getting a little "help" with sunscreen application. While Too Hot To Handle's Alex Snell didn't come off that well at the start, the Pisces soon started to show the strong emotions that are part and parcel of this sign.
Since Pisces if the last of the twelve Sun signs, it's believed to be the most emotionally full zodiac sign of all. A Pisces will have every good and bad trait of every other sign, plus some quirks that are all their own. That's why Pisces has been memorably described as the, "garbage dump of the zodiac." It's true that their sensitivity and psychic flashes aren't for everyone. This acutely intuitive sign knows how people are feeling and what they're thinking. This unsettles others, and the Pisces finds it unsettling too.
Alex puts up a front by doing his hair, standing in front of mirrors, and talking about muscles, but what's inside? Sometime with a bit of softness. When Elys wouldn't open up, he seemed crushed, and not just because he wanted a green light so they could make out. He can open up, and he wouldn't do well with a partner that struggles to be emotionally honest. Even when he had doubts, he voiced them, and that was honorable. A Pisces is quite comfortable telling others how they feel, and what they believe.
While they weren't destined to go the distance (they split up six months after the show), that might not be a bad thing, as Leo and Pisces aren't the ideal astrological combination. Any two signs can fall in love and make it work, but they're just very different people. Elys loves Alex's wit, and he adored her beauty and grace. For a while, things were ok, and while Pisces is about sacrifice in love, Alex couldn't quite let go of his need to explore, perhaps because, on some level, he knew she wasn't his forever match anyway.
Pisceans are the ultimate escapists. Traveling may give Alex a change to totally disconnect from the "real world." Another Pisces might do the same with music, art, books and movies (or a few cocktails).
Meanwhile, Leo Elys was willing to try and meet him halfway. She would travel with him. For a Leo to try and accommodate someone that way, when they're used to being catered to, is very telling. She was in love on the show, and that's how she showed it. She's got a great life, with a glam career and plenty of perks. She was willing to make changes for him, but his doubts were so clear.
It's possible that even though Elys eventually opened up, it just wasn't enough for him. A Pisces wants to know exactly who the other person is. Elys may have held back a little, even when she was really trying.
Both Too Hot To Handle cast members seem like great people, but they may be happier with other partners. Elys should look for a Sagittarius, Libra, or Aries. Her best match is probably a Gemini, as this sign can provide the banter she loves. Alex should look for a sensitive Cancer or smoldering Scorpio, or go for stability with a Taurus or Capricorn. No matter who they end up with, Alex and Elys made the show fun, and definitely grew as people while they were trying to strengthen their bond.
